After graduating his degree in architecture, Antony worked for Holt Hinshaw Architects in San Francisco as an Architectural Designer, before taking up his position as lecturer at Massey. His research is split between the role that spatial design has in the computer gaming industry and how the gaming technologies can be applied to interior and spatial design. Also how CNC and Rapid Prototyping can be a useable interface between the built virtual and built environment. Antony is currently enrolled in a masters of architecture at RMIT supervised by Prof. Mark Burry, his title of research 'Architectural Hyper-models: Changing construction documentation from paper based delivery processes to include real time three-dimensional interactive digital environments' developed from an increase with architects and spatial designers producing complex 3D computer models as part of their everyday design process and documentation than ever before. In parallel with this move there has been a rapid rise in consumer computer processing power that has made real time hyper realistic digital environments a part of our home entertainment. Taken together, the 3D CAD models and the computer gaming engine could become an architectural hyper-model -- a real time 3D digital architectural representation. His research is dealing with how these worlds can merge to form an architectural hyper-model as a valuable supplement to the conventional scaled 2D construction drawing documentation found on construction sites.Research Highlights - Publications
